Landscape Architect

Garden Club London is an award-winning landscape design and build company based in Vauxhall, London. With an ever-increasing reputation for first class service and innovative landscape design in both residential and commercial sectors, we are looking for a Landscape Architect who is passionate about working in the landscaping and horticulture industry and delivering high quality designs. You will be assisting our senior LA and working closely with Design Director by being involved in all stages of projects from conceptual and feasibility studies, through to planning applications, detailed design, tender packs and construction. This is an excellent opportunity for a pro-active and creative landscape architect to join a growing practice working on a range of projects in the UK and overseas.

Job Requirements

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Your typical day-to-day responsibilities will include:

    · Working closely with senior members to deliver projects through all stages of work, from conception to completion

    · Producing drawing packs for each design stage

    · Dealing directly with clients and other design consultants to carry out landscape coordination and facilitate plan changes and updates as well as managing deadlines

    · Preparing a wide range of plans including planting plans, construction details, lighting and irrigation plans

    · Liaising with manufacturers and specialists to select products and study installation details

    · Organising projects in line with Garden Club London’s Quality Assurance Standards

    · Producing specifications or schedule of works

    ABOUT YOU

    Essential Criteria:

    · Bachelors or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture or Garden Design

    · A minimum of three years professional experience

    · Proficient in Vectorworks and Adobe suit (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

    · Looking to start the LI Pathway to Chartership

    · Ample plant knowledge and ability to produce planting designs

    · A good working knowledge of technical details and landscape construction

    · Creative thinking and strong presentation skills

    · Reasonable understanding of the UK planning system and Building Control regulations that apply to Landscape Architecture

    · Excellent written and spoken English

    · Able to work well independently and follow direction

    · Confident working in a small office environment with a strong team focus of hard work and conscientiousness

    · Have an appreciation of working with high-end clients

    Desirable Criteria:

    · Already working towards or recently achieved Chartership with the LI

    · Some project manager experience, particularly taking lead on small-medium projects and being the main point of contact for clients

    · Able to streamline existing processes by coming up with new ways of doing things

    · Good report writing skills
