Landscape Architect Internship

GARDEN CLUB LONDON INTERNSHIPS

Garden Club London is an RHS Chelsea award-winning landscape design company based in Vauxhall, with our design and build teams bringing experience from the UK, Europe and abroad.

We offer the opportunity to a student or newly qualified landscape architect to join us for 3 months in the studio, to learn every aspect of landscape design, both in the residential and commercial fields. Full studio training and guidance will be given to develop your skills and you will gain valuable site experience.

We will aim to give you a portfolio of project experience, including one start to finish project, and the opportunity to assist with project management and monitoring.

Standard hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, but you may be required to work evenings and weekends to assist with RHS shows and events or installations.

The internship will run for 3 months from May – July 2019.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of plans using Vectorworks
  • Assist designers to prepare presentations and moodboards
  • Printing and file production
  • Sample ordering and collating
  • Image editing and preparation of marketing material (using Adobe, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
  • Assist with site surveys
  • Site analysis
  • Assisting designers with Planning Applications and project documentation
  • Design guideline research
  • Participating in resolution of technical issues
  • Becoming familiar with relevant H&S regulations

Job Requirements

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Degree qualified in Landscape Architecture / Design Studies
  • Familiar with Landscape Institute work stages A-L
  • Experience using Vectorworks, CAD and Adobe software
  • Basic design knowledge (drawing plans, sections, elevations and technical drawings to scale)
  • Presentable and polite
  • Experience using Macs and Office
  • Basic 3D Modelling experience
  • Basic knowledge of tender processes and construction knowledge preferable but not essential

This is a paid internship at £16286 per annum pro rata.
