Double win for Garden Club at the SGD Awards 2019!

Tony Woods Scoops Double at 2019 Society of Garden Designers Awards

Tony Woods MSGD, Design Director at Garden Club London had double success at this years Society of Garden Designers Awards held at the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone. Tony’s design for the Jam Factory roof garden project in Bermondsey, London was announced winner of the Roof Garden award. The Judges commented:

“An outright winner, working on every level of function, spatial arrangement, planting design and durability for the challenging conditions. Well proportioned with a lovely warm colour palette and wonderful texture in the paving, furniture and planting, the garden is perfectly designed to take in the London skyline without overwhelming the space.”

Tony also scooped the award for public and commercial garden design for the Floating Pocket Park at Merchant Square. This has become an iconic new addition to London green space and is open to the public all year round. The Judges commented:

“A wonderful floating oasis within the built up Paddington basin, satisfying the brief on every level and beautifully executed. An incredible use of resource and an amazingly clever idea to promote landscape that could be applied to any city.”
