We offer our garden design service across London and the Home Counties but if you have a project further afield then we can provide you with costs for consultation and design.
After an initial consultation we will send you a proposal of fees and an outline of costs – this is not a quotation but a guideline for you to budget. When you give us the go ahead we will ask for a design work deposit and then schedule a site survey of your garden. We will then produce a concept and mood boards and present this to you face to face to discuss. Based on your feedback we will then tweak the garden concept and then progress to the full design stage. You will then receive 3d visuals of the proposed garden design and subject to your approval we will then produce layout and construction drawings along with any relevant schedules and specifications. We will then ask our recommended Landscape contractors to submit costs and timescales for the build of the project. When the build commences we will liaise with the contractor to ensure the smooth running of the project and when the build is complete Garden Club will return to carry out the planting scheme and hand over the new garden.
All of our horticultural services and soft landscaping is carried out ‘in house’. For specialist work including joinery, bricklaying and electrical installations we use tried and trusted contractors with years of experience gained after completing apprenticeships. These contractors are fully qualified and registered with trade organisations where required, insured and offer a high level of finish in an agreed timescale.
You will need to check with your local authority to ascertain if you are in a conservation area and if the tree has a protection order. Garden Club London do not offer tree surgery services and we would recommend using the approved contractors on the Arboricultural association website which can be found on our links page.
The usual height for a garden fence is 2m. You will need to contact your local authority to check their specific guidelines as the planning rules can vary from borough to borough. We can check this for you at quotation stage.
There is a plant selection to suit every garden. Increasing light levels, installing irrigation, adding organic matter to the soil and protecting plants against damage until they are established, will help the plants to grow.
Our rates depend on the type of work and location of the work. We are happy to give you a guideline cost over the phone and confirm this in writing after an initial consultation. Landscaping projects vary depending on the craftsmen involved. Our starting Guideline for small projects is a budget of £15,000 and our average client spend is £25,000. Our fees are around 10% of the cost of the project cost depending on the level of detail required and the complexity of the design.
